At this meeting, Dr. Zafarghandi emphasized the importance of adequate and timely payment systems as a key success factor for the Family Physician Program, stating: "It is essential to properly document all activities conducted under this program, while also implementing appropriate public awareness campaigns to institutionalize it in society." The Health Minister commended the collaboration of medical universities, managers, deputies, and participating organizations in this national initiative, while stressing the need for enhanced synergy to advance the program’s objectives. Attendees included members of the Executive Committee—deputies and directors from the Ministry of Health, as well as representatives of agencies involved in the Family Physician Program. A comprehensive report was presented on progress made by the program’s six committees, covering: Integration committee meetings, Implementation of electronic referral systems across healthcare tiers, Human resource recruitment challenges, and Advancements by specialized committees. The meeting also featured discussions on challenges, solutions, and future pathways to optimize program implementation. Earlier in the session, East Azerbaijan University of Medical Sciences symbolically demonstrated the execution phases of the Family Physician and Referral System Program.
